Lahore based ‘Dionysus’ release a track from their forthcoming EP ‘Hymn To The Death’

Dionysus is a Death metal band from Lahore (Pakistan) having influences from Doom/ Dark/ Neo classical folk.

Dionysus is:
Waleed Ahmed – Vocals/ Guitars/ Bass
Sheraz Ahmed – Guitars/ Drums
Umair Ahmed – Guitars
Rauhan Lasharie – Flute/ Synth/ Violin

The band’s music is influenced from a variety of bands like Anathema, Katatonia, Saturnus, Amorphis, Asphyx, Death, Bathory, Edge of Sanity, Bloodbath, Esper, Dissection etc.

Currently the band is working on an EP titled “Hymn To The Dying” which is scheduled to release through ‘Afterwind Records’ in late April or early May. They have released a track titled ‘Valor of the Phoenix‘ from their forthcoming EP.

According to Sheraz Ahmed, “The EP is a blend of old school death metal with melodic doom and black metal passages and atmosphere of neo folk. It’d include two acoustic folk instruments along with four other songs.”
