REVIEW: DEATH ANGEL – The Dream Calls For Blood

Mix 100 teaspoons of sonic assaulting riffs and 10,000 tons of cataclysmic drumming, then combine it with some unadulterated aggression of lucid vocals and shake them all together and after sometime your dish The Dream Calls For Blood is ready to be served Hot! on stage.

First 29seconds creates a nightmarish tune of a unholy place where evil reeks at every step, then like an atomic bomb ‘Left For Dead’ detonates noxious riffs with vocals spitting venom in your face with a tale whilst the drumming mollifies these lethal toxins.

Yarns quite a handful and intense allusion with the lyrics; ‘Son Of The Morning‘ unlocks with subtle drumming which only speeds up to coalesce with rapid paced riffs. All together so you find the solace that your mind needs.

An anecdote of angst feelings with some melodic vocals and tunes. ‘Fallen‘ is; hostility wrecked in a constructive method.

Recall the taste of blood? sour, sticky and a faint smell of iron. There is something about this song that I cannot place my finger on. However, with its ear-splitting drumming, prominent guitar riffs and compelling vocals, ‘Our Dreams Calls For Blood‘ makes me experience baleful feelings and transmits uncanny beliefs into my mind and takes me on a hazy dream of fear and bloodshed.

Undying energy in the drumming makes a hostile start for ‘Succubus‘, the riffs and vocals twists the truth out in the 80’s style Thrash Metal.

A fallacy until 1.10 minutes i.e. starting out like a Metal ballad, don’t let this fool you. ‘Execution – Don’t Save Me‘ is like trying to doge cannon balls. The message of the song seems rather profound but watch out for its sniggers with its pompous vocals.

In its own lines; Be warned! : ‘Caster Of Shame‘ is a ballistic battering ram. The vocals and drums detonate a strong fighting spirit. So propel yourself with this high spirited song.

Detonate‘ castes a hex for a minute and thirty three seconds with some passionate guitar riffs mixed with a pinch of veto and is backed up by some captivating drumming. The vocals opens up the doors of a disturbed and tumult mind… but be warned just don’t cross yourself in here.

The title ‘Empty‘ is an oxymoron, if it is anything it’s insanity let loose. The powerful riffs open with sky-scraping speed that they will blow you away, but wait, that’s not all the drums come in ever faster and more heavier, the legitimacy of the lyrics is purely deep-rooted.

I say, is there a pinch of classical music in the guitar? unless I’ve lost my hearing. ‘Territorial Instinct / Bloodlust’ feels like listening to a horror story, with real cadaver around you, whilst seated in a graveyard during twilight.

So just when I asked myself; sigh! what else is new to my ears which I haven’t heard in metal? Death Angel explodes like a fucking atomic decibel bomb. Thrash Metal – in its rawest assault filled with infuriated psychosis, pure rage and feelings all mixed into this ready to detonate album.

Watch out for the drumming in the entire album it is fucking catastrophic. Like to quote a line from Judas Priest’s ‘Painkiller’; ”faster than a bullet, terrifying speed”. Will Carroll – will you give me a pair of autographed drumsticks man? 😀

If you have been taking pride and boasting about yourself of listening to Thrash Metal blah blah … well I just have few words; zip it! crank the fucking volume up!, headbang! and ride with this Angel of Death as their Dreams calls for our Blood. \,,/
