BLOOD & IRON release third album ‘Voices Of Eternity’

Bangalore based classic heavy metal band ‘BLOOD & IRON‘ has released their third album ‘Voices Of Eternity‘. Formed in early 2005 and then after releasing 2 albums, the band’s lineup changed in 2010. Following line up changes in 2010, it was decided that a new line up was required to deliver the kind of music envisioned by the 3 core members of the band. With a total of 7 artists, spread across 3 different countries, this album took about two years to record. The album was recorded at four locations: Dubai, Sydney, Bangalore and Chennai and finally mixed in Dubai.

The album features Giles Lavery, the lead singer of Australian metal band ‘Dragonsclaw’ who took on as lead vocalist duties on all tracks. Youmni, lead singer of Dubai-based metal band ‘Ascendant’, handles backing vocals on all songs as well as lead vocal parts on ‘Burning Bridges’ and ‘Ghost of A Memory’. Vin Nair, lead singer of Dubai-based rock band ‘Vin Sinners’ takes on the part of ‘the Narrator’ on ‘Ghost of a Memory’. Riju “Dr. Hex” Dasgupta, bassist of Mumbai-based metal band “Albatross” handles the bass on ‘Eternal Rites’.

We followed up with the band and bassist Ashish describes the artwork depicts “The artwork has the statues of three ancient (and extinct) Gods – ie. Poseidon, Isis and Odin (Left to right). We wanted a symbolic representation of how though the times seemingly change, some traits and characteristics are forever entwined with the human experience – and they survive.” He adds further “The album primarily talks about various concepts that affects humanity – in the past and probably into the foreseeable future. From tales of fantasy which mirror our history, to songs dealing with more overt political themes.”
