Demonic Resurrection to headline IIM Bangalore’s B-School Of Rock

BSOR (B-school of Rock), the biggest rock competition in Bangalore is back again, and in keeping with the past trend promises to be bigger and better. Over the years, BSOR has grown into a veritable Mecca for semi-pro bands across the country, providing a platform for upcoming bands to catapult themselves to the next level. With its vision of promoting rock music in India, BSOR in the past has been the launchpad for several bands with nation-wide appeal today, including Public Issues, Inner Sanctum, Lounge Piranha and Parvaaz. Given the reputation BSOR has established for itself in music circles, bands like Inner Sanctum and Eccentric Pendulum which had graduated to pros and stopped competing, have come out of their self-induced breaks and contended at BSOR to put their mettle to the ultimate test.

The headlining act this year is by Demonic Resurrection – India’s No.1 metal band. Over a 100 entries were received from top bands across the country, with only a chosen few making it to the finals of BSOR ’12 on 27th Jan. The final line-up has already created a buzz in music circles in and out of Bangalore, with the top 6 bands drawn from 6 different cities. The following are the bands competing for the coveted prize of INR 70,000.

Besides, the entire event will be webcast and available to be viewed online LIVE. A poll has been organised during the event, and the band that registers the maximum number of votes wins an Ipod for each band member! Introducing a new concept this year, a ‘rockumentary’ will be shot on campus. Designed on the lines of the popular TV show The Dewarists, it would comprise of interviews of the band members, their musical influences, evolution of their band etc. along with their performance. The rockumentary will then be available for viewers on a dedicated You-Tube channel.

BSOR ’12 – Bigger and better than before!! Don’t miss out on some amazing music – see you there (Y)
