Devoid parts ways with bassist Frank Pawar

Mumbai based Death/Thrash metal band Devoid in a press release announced that they will be parting ways with their long term bass player Prashant Frank Pawar due to professional differences. The release had the following to say

“It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to a person so ingrained into the very essence of Devoid. We will always value and cherish the times we’ve shared with Frank on stage and off of it too. Needless to say that his absence will be felt. This is by far the hardest thing we’ve ever done as a band. The change is due to professional differences that cannot be mend. We wish Prashant “Frank” Pawar all the best for his future and sincerely hope that he achieves all the success that is rightfully due for him. ”

The band also announced that Abhishek Kamdar will be replacing him as the new bass player for the band, effectively from their first gig of the year which will be the Blue Frog Metal Night this 22nd January 2012.

This is what front man of the band Arun Iyer had to say about the new bass player :-

“Kamdar is a monster on bass. For those of who know him, know that he is a monster otherwise too. He is poised to bring a new edge to the band and we’ll let his bass playing do all the talking. It should be fun writing the new material with him and we are all looking forward to killing it on stage once again. Ask for free beers from this guy, he said he is okay with it.”
