Pakistani Heavy Metal band ‘Blackhour’ released their debut album ‘Age of War’

Blackhour is an English heavy metal band from Islamabad, Pakistan, formed in 2007 by guitarist Hashim Mehmood and Hassan Rauf, also the primary songwriters of the band. After three successive wins at the Underground Battle of the Bands and an amazing response of the singles, “Age of War” and “Salvation”, the band decided to work on their debut album in the mid of 2010 and finally coming out with, “Age of War” studio album via Yourlabel Records in USA and Afterwind Records in Pakistan.

Soon after the release, response in USA started to get bigger and bigger through Yourlabel Records and the album started to gain fans from different countries and inner cities. Blackhour has been getting a lot of listeners from Germany, Poland, U.K and Switzerland.

Hashim Mehmood (guitarist) told us, “Album, Age Of War is a concept album which revolves much around the current situation of Pakistan. On how Pakistan is in a state of war within itself amongst its own people. Our land full of uncertainties. It is also about breaking the everyday chains that bind a person and finally shouting out and taking a step. The album talks about looking beyond the false ideas that media portray. It also deals with some religious aspects that are yet to happen, like ‘One-eyed priest’. Main theme is ‘Jihad’ against oneself is the only option for a greater good.”
