Archaeum – As The Suffering Halts

Modesty is very important in any art form, if one was to be a great artist but Archaeum on the other hand are quite different. From their MySpace page it seems that they  think of themselves as probably the most brutal and heaviest band on the planet, so much that they have even given themselves silly nicknames and top it all they call their genre Death Metal, whereas the truth couldn’t be further from that.

Archaeum is a band from Philadelphia that plays Metalcore with a touch of Deathcore. They have two vocalists like in most Deathcore bands and bring into use dual growl technique where one does growling and the other screeches. The guitar work is quite technical and very intricate, however the rhythm section is not too good as the drums sound very damp and muffled, and as usual the bass is nothing really to write home about.

But overall their sound is basically a copy paste version of Lamb of God with little originality. Perhaps the only original aspect of their music is the melodic part of the album attributed to the clean singing. Quite honestly other than that I have nothing much to say about this album. This is nothing more than complete mediocrity.
