Lividity – Used Abused And Left For Dead

Lividity is now reformed Lividity! Line-up, style, sound, pace everything seems poles apart on ‘Used, abused and left for dead’. All you sickos, who loved getting your fare share of non-visual porn from previous Lividity albums, are in for a dry spell. Because, the band has shifted away from sick porn intros (that used to dissolve into lyrical themes) and concentrated on new found fury plus brutality, sending extreme reverberations to any new or old listener.

‘Dave Kibler’ (G/Vox) is the lone survivor out of classic line up of ‘The age of clitoral decay’ and ‘Fetish for the sick’. ‘Matt bishop’ (V/G) will be missed definitely, but the biggest surprise is addition of ‘Jordan Varela’ on drums from ‘Lust of decay’. Now what happens when an explosive drummer like him extends duties to Lividity? We are in for a dimension change. Perverse suffering is pounded over you through blasphemous opening of hell’s doors once ‘Raped of rent’ (Track 1) takes charge. Characteristics of this album are lesser appreciation of wet pussy, scanty groove parts and all an all fun loving feel. On the other hand, there’s gore in heaps, thunder storming riffs, no bottle necks in flow, and overall merciless butchery of your soul. For those of you who freaked on goregrind overture of lividity’s last outing ‘Til only the sick remain’ will feel a void in groove parts, that were plenty in previous releases. Although track 3’seven 19’and ‘Deviant pleasure’s (track4) come fairly close in bridging this gap and striking a balance.Von’s and Dave’s vocals juggle between hellish screams, earth moving groans and wicked gurgles, which seemed caged and seem as if they were waiting to be released to rip you into parts. ‘The cumming of trilogy’ (pussy lover part3) maintains the rendition of original ‘Pussy lover’, this song has likes of mean, sick intro.Which develops into a rivet gun, sticking up those boulder bass-guitar fixtures down your hole. It takes mountain of an effort if you carefully observe riff ridges, ramps and steps especially on title track ‘Used abused and left for dead’ and ‘Hero of dementia’ which lividity has executed effortlessly. Meanwhile ‘No times for lube’ and ‘Bound in skin’ are murderous as they suffocate and slither on.Final track ‘Phallic beat down’ spans eight and a half minutes, has a hurricane of a progression and stamina to put the flag right on top of peak of the musical cliff, providing a stirring end to a remarkable effort.

Used abused and left for dead. Tomb in the library of the sick!
