OK! This mcd is not for the weak, it’s a warning for all those who may turn deaf or may be mentally tortured after listening to this band. Retch have two members (hailing from California) who look forward to burn you down with some sick death metal music. On looking to the cover artwork of this cd I get a sick feeling of what really the music has to deliver. Well.. I play the cd and I hear someone puking down his guts, it feels disgusting and then suddenly, with the blast of the drums and grunting vox, with some amazing guitar riff work, the cd blows off your head! The sound is more towards Mortician and Disgorge likes, the vocals are performed in a guttural, pukish manner.. Somewhat like pig grunts.. It’s definitely not something that can be understood. The guitars are amazing, riff after riff, it’s not very groovy but the cd makes sure your head keeps banging all the time. Now the drums have been programmed here.. The sound is somewhat similar to what the actual drums would sound like so there’s nothing to worry about. It’s kept brutal and the double bass drum attack is kept on. It’s not possible to believe that any human drummer could possibly play that kinda stuff, but who cares man, I have enjoyed each track, as I feel drilled again and again till the end of this cd, feel the pain!! The most important point here is the good quality and it makes me feel a lot better. Retch has been in the underground death metal scene for quite some time, and have received a positive response towards this great mcd art. Recently, they have released a complete album. I have yet to get my hands on that one, but it has gotta be intense man! My favourite tracks remain: ALL of them! This cd is Fucking intense! Listeners of Cannibal Corpse, Pyaemia, Mortician and other gore grind acts are sure to enjoy this mcd. Not many tracks and is a bit short but it’s worth all the money you spend for this product! (5/5)
