This is a quality compilation featuring many such talents from that part of the globe , bands playing funk, hardcore, and surely dark and brutal death metal music. Further on with the review, lets see what each band has to contribute here, Kicking off with the first band on the cd list is " Dianira" , a band from Naples, Italy, and it was born in the 1995 founded by Gianluca Di Bonito and Fabrizio Borrino; its a 3 member group. They have performed many live gigs .. some of there recent shows are " Rock Targato Italia (2002)" and I-tim Tour (2002). The "Living Dream" teamed up in Rome during the autumn of 1998. This 3 peice band reminds me alot of Offspring and alikes. The solo work on guitars is that really stands out, very memorable! The most fascinating part from this band lineup , is that they have a female vocalist, and she has a great tearing voice. They almost immediately began playing several shows supporting bands such as Novembre, Morgana’s Kiss, Klimt 1918. thus, gaining a lot of appreciation. They have just recorded their second self-released 5-track cd ("Tears Like Rain"-2002), Their music could possibly have strong influences from Moonspell, Tiamat etc. As mentioned earlier, this quartet has a great mix of power grooves and a touch of gothic moments to this track. The Fifth track is by "Ali Perdvte" born in 1998 between the south of Switzerland and the north of italy.The members are Italian and Swiss."Right to nothing" was their first demo and then in 2000 they came out with another demo named "Unshaped". They have been awarded as the best band in the "Deep rock Festival" held in Italy. This track from them leads me to a trance, what a talent behind the flute work by Sabrina, Outstanding! This track has the longest duration in the entire cd a approx of 6:15 mins. At no point the track is going offpath or monotonous, rather its very pleasant, and carries a soothing sound thats very creative. Kardias efforts have been reviewed by italian rockmagazines like Flash! and Ritual, KARDIA are now playing in underground clubs in Rome and in festivals all over Italy and looking for contacts with labels. The 9th Track is a sudden explosion, Featuring a band named "Nuclear Devastation", Brutal Grind/Death metal all the way! Nuclear Devastation was formed in Milan in 1995, featuring two members of Brainwash (singer and drummer). After an intense live activity in Italy, they have recorded their first CD, a split with mighty Agathocles, which brought about much popularity abroad and allowed them to take part in important events, such as the " Obscene Extreme Fest 2000 ", the " Grind Over Europe III " (the Total Fucking Destruction European tour with Agathocles, Haemorrhage and Nyctophobic) and other concerts throughout Europe with "CSSO, Regurgitate and more. MESCHALINA ‘s musical repertory consist of 11 songs (9 in English and 2 in Italian) written by the band itself and covers and lasts one hour.They have recorded a DEMO which lasts 34 minutes and contains 8 songs which have been recorded and mixed by the band itself using CUBASE and SOUND FORGE. This is so far as their Bio tells me. As far as this track is concerned, its a complete reflection to what R.A.T.M sounds like, One surely cant forget the scratchy noise on the guitars, done by R.A.T.M, and most of it is repeated here by these italians "MESCHALINA". Splendid performance by this Progressive clubbed band makes this track very futuristic and very unique. The true vocation of the group is that to experiment and widen a kind , still unknown to the musical world. Surely its displayed in this track from them! The group is feel inspired from acts like Pink Floyd, Dream Theater,Led zeppelin, P.F.M. and Genesis. This band without a doubt is going to come out big sometime! GUNS. This 5 member band has a huge and common passion for Rock and Hard Rock .Their Demo has been realized in only 12 hours (two days).It has been set up in multiple-tracks, but with a strong and amazing verve live!
