In October 2010 Indian Metal band Demonic Resurrection launched ‘The Unrelenting Guitar Cover Contest‘ where fans were invited to cover the song ‘The Unrelenting Surge Of Vengeance‘ and upload a video on Youtube and the winner would get band merchandise as a prize.
Initially the contest was intended to cover just guitarists, but the contest was extended to vocalists, drummers and bassists due to overwhelming response from their fans.
The contest grew bigger with contributions from 3 anonymous fans raising the prize to Rs.3000, Rs.1500 gift voucher from Furtados Music, a 1 year RSJ subscription, DR merch and CD, an ESP Guitar/Mapex T-Shirt and “Fan of the month”.
